Pat Holt

B orn and raised in Houston, Pat was the first of her family to be born there. Her older brother and sisters were born in Louisiana. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Houston and went to work at the Houston Chronicle along with her mother. She met a young Marine who was also working there and attendeing the University of Houston. In 1949 she married Robert Holt and just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

The mother of 5 children, she kept busy running the "Holt" household. After the kids left the nest she began volunteering at Heights Hospital and continues to volunteer at Grimes-St. Joseph Hospital.

When her son Grant became the funeral director in charge and owner of Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home, she quickly became an assistant helping in the office and doing the ladies hair for him.

Pat has been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Plantersville for 38 years where she is a member of the Altar Society and the Guardian Angels. She also was a lector for 35 years and a former member of the parish council.

Pat has been a member of the Ladies Auxillary at Grimes-St. Joseph for 30 years, a 19 year member of the local RSVP group and enjoys being a member of the Grimes AARP.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking (she is famous for her sugar cookies!), church activities and spending time with family.
