Lynette Kelly Korpita

Lynette Ruth Kelly Korpita, 57, of Rustin, Louisiana, formerly of Dora, Alabama and Magnolia, Texas, went hand and hand to heaven with her grandson Eli on April 12, 2012 after a car accident near Carthage, Texas.

A memorial service and celebration of Lynette's life was held 10:30 am Monday, April 16, 2012, at First Baptist Church, 309 Church Street in Navasota. A reception followed in the family life center.

Lynette was born August 10, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Alfred and Ruth Harvey Kelly. She married George Michael Korpita on December 14, 1974 and they had two sons, George P. and John M. Korpita. They raised their sons in Magnolia and later moved to Dora, Alabama where she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and recently had moved to Rustin, Louisiana where she had joined Temple Baptist Church.

Her life was full of love and fun and she will forever remain in our hearts and lives. Lynette was full of the Spirit of God and her life always pointed those around her to the message of hope that is our Liberating King, Jesus Christ. She served others selflessly and graciously with all of her strength.

Lynette's life will be forever celebrated by her husband Mike Korpita; her mother, Ruth Kelly; sons, George and wife Sarah and John and Becky Korpita; grandsons, Isaiah and Troy Korpita; brother James Kelly and his wife Joyce; brother-in-law Johnny Korpita and his wife Maria along with countless friends, extended family and community.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the City of Navasota, PO Box 910, Navasota, TX 77868, for a park project dedicated to her grandson Eli.
