Francisco “Frank” Javier Escamilla, Jr., 16, of Navasota, died Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Navasota.
Calling hours were held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm Monday, July 30, 2012, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends was held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 9677 Hwy 6 in Navasota. A parish rosary to followed at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated 10:30 am Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rev. Rodolfo “JoJo” Cal-Ortiz as the celebrant. The rite of committal followed in Oakland Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Miguel, Gene, David, Ricardo, Daniel and John Romero, Marco Alvarez and Louis Santo.
Francisco was born December 26, 1995 in College Station to Francisco Javier and Maria V. Romero Escamilla. He would have been a 10th grader at Navasota High School this fall and he enjoyed playing soccer. He was preceded in death by his father March 7, 2004.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Maria V. Escamilla and Louis Santos, two sisters, Melanie and Isabel Escamilla; grandparents, Roberta and Gene Romero and Francisca Mata, all of Navasota and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a great number of friends.
